I'll Show you mine if you show me yours....

If you live in the Portland metro area please visit Together Gallery to witness the show that is hanging at the moment. It is very stunning and strong. The three artists involved create a great little group. David Wien, Mark Warren Jacques, and Bwana Spoons really killed the visuals for this show. Dave is one of my favorite artists ever and it is soo great to see such diverse and challenging work from him. The dude really took his game to the next level! Please visit them.

classifieds

Are you good with words? Can you replicate and audio experience with words and phrases?
Right now an Oregan Recs website is under construction. What is missing is about a paragraph about each release explaining the sounds and sensations. We can't pay real money but we would send you the releases for free and before they are available to the public. Almost like little short record reviews....
I love all the music soo much but never can find the right words to describe it. Maybe someone would be interested in this gig...
Please email directly or leave your contact info in the comments section if you are interested.
Thanks!

new tapes

I spent the evening dubbing tapes.
Now listening to tapes. Great tapes are getting ready for an official Oregan Recs release.
A very happening split tape from Natural Bridges and Lovehandles is finally making a public debut soon. I have been soo in love with all the jams on this tape for the last couple months. Also a really rad EP from Flaspar called Ape Cocoon. The Flaspar tape has much more of a darker feel to it. A really great recording that I have been having a real good time putting together. Also a tape version of Prince Rama's "Threshold Dances" just in time for them touring through the NW. This is deffinatly one of my favorite albums I've heard in a while!
So yeah. Check out the Oregan page in a few days or something. I've really been wanting to put together a new website for a bunch of projects and art n' junk. But the monthly hosting fee is what has stopped me for while now. I think it is worth it cause this blogger thing is soo limiting. Just typing into this box feels ridiculous. Soon enough though.

Marble Mummy Drops September 1st ! ! !

The Debut album from Michigan's Marble Mummy is going to be released on September 1st.
Erik has been working a long time on these songs and the whole album came out epically amazing.
Over an hour of head ripping beats, psychedelic space jogs, and crunchy tunes all around.
Lugg out your dirtiest sub woofer cause your system will need the help.
Oh yeah, he also made most of this album using his Television! ! !

Head over and get a sense of his intense rhythm.

New Guitar

I finished making this two nights ago and havn't been able to put it down since...
The neck was salvaged from a broken children's instrument and the rest was laying around in the yard.
Super fun to play on the porch while stomping your foot.

Barf #8

The new edition of Barf has arrived. These were made a couple weeks ago in preparation for the PDX zine symposium. I did most of the drawings on a trip to the Oregon coast. Also with a picture of my party star roomate Jordan at his birthday this year and a picture of Kristin on our way up to Seattle to visit Healthy Times Fun Club (total sweeties!).
The cover of this book is actually bright orange. So bright that when scanned it couldn't recognize any color at all. Kinda weird.
$4 bucks with shipping included.

This is a page from a little booklet I am working on with noise luminary Arnau Sala. He has been a friend and inspiration for a long time and I am excited to finally be working together on a project. His label Ozono Kids out of Spain is one of my absolute favorites.

Beautiful Earth First!ers

Today, a group of Cascadia Earth First!ers and Rising Tide members took action against the continued liquidation and destruction of Oregon’s Elliott State Forest. Using sky pods, bipods, road blockades, overturned cargo vans, lock downs and many other beautiful installations, the road to Umpcoos Ridge timber sale has been occupied, held and reclaimed for the forest, the people and future generations.

For decades this forest near Coos Bay has been hammered, managed as if it was a piggy bank, smashed in an unsuccessful attempt to fund public schools.

Some of Oregon’s (and the world’s) last native forests, old growth, and future old growth forests are on the chopping block in the Elliott. A lawsuit has been filed against the current management plan for sanctioning the killing of endangered spotted owls. That lawsuit has been ignored. Community groups have resisted the extraction for years and have been ignored.

But the blockade stands, and WE CAN HOLD THE ROAD, but NOT WITHOUT YOUR HELP! Please take some time to protect your public land!

How to help:

Call These Folks!!!! Please! Public Support for the Blockade is Absolutely Necessary for its continuation! We need hundreds of calls ASAP to stop the sale and maintain the blockade

Secretary of State and Oregon Land Board member Kate Brown: (503) 986-1523
Coos District Forester Jim Young (541) 267-1741

Ask them to cancel the current timber sales (Umpcoos and Fishing Cougar) in the Elliottt State Forest! This area is important native forest land; it should be set aside as a biodiversity and carbon reserve for endangered species and climate change mitigation. Tell them you support the continuation of the blockade!

Second, JOIN US! Bring all you need to be self sufficient in the woods for as long as you plan to stay and come to the Elliott!
Directions:
Go West towards Reedsport on Highway 38
Turn Left on Loon Lake Road
Pass Camp Creek Road, take first right (unmarked)
After 100 feet on unmarked road you will see Cougar Pass Road sign
This road becomes 7000. Follow to site. Careful of multiple forks, stay on road more traveled.
The Free State is at mile marker 3 ½ on the 7000 road.

Third, if you can’t come, please donate to the cause on our web site: www.ForestDefenseNow.org (but make sure you call the land board first, the success of this action depends on everyone showing support)

Check out our web site for full information www.ForestDefenseNow.org

hey 'all
it is the morning time and coffee is tasting good.
just wanted to write a couple lines detailing what is going down with OreGan Records.
well, it is officially a label.
we just release a super fine album by Prince Rama Of Ayodhya, they are a super amazing group from the east coast.
secondly we have about 5 other releases taking shape at this moment. the songs and sounds on them are soo great that I am beaming with anticipation. Groups like, Natural Bridges, Lovehandles, Marble Mummy, Flaspar, and the prolific Xandicathus Berryweather is seeing two re-releases of early albums. Super excited to release them all onto the world. It is going to be soo great!!
But for now, go get familiar with Prince Rama and order the disc if you like the vibe.
Hope everyone is having summer fun!

G L O W D O M E

Kristin and I are revving up the Glow Dome for this Summer/Fall. We are super excited about this and what might come from it all. On our agenda now is to fully revamp the inside of the dome itself. There is going to be lots more room. This means we are going to have lots more Zines and Art. It is going to be great!

Do you make Art Zines that you think should be sold in the Glow Dome?

Do you know of a good spot in Portland where we can set up on a semi permanent basis?

Do you like to dip your fries into your milkshake?

Let us know. We love hearing from people.

Cherry City

Spring is here.....and so are allergies!
Eugene is one town south from the "Grass Seed Capital of the World".  This makes hay fever and other allergies pretty unbearable this time of year.  That is why Kristin and I escaped to Salem for a couple days.

I have been cooped up behind a computer for the last couple days working on some advertising projects.  It has been fun learning new programs like In Design and also helping out great people with their inspiring ideas.  Kristin made lemon bars today for the first time and they turned out amazing.  She can pretty much do anything she wants.

Tomorrow we get to check out a little bit of the Cherry City Music festival.  Shit!  140 bands playing over 3 days in Salem!?  It will be fun to watch some friends play music.

Hope everyone is enjoying Spring!

More Videos...

Breakfast Mountain - Summer Jamm
For this one I sampled one of my favorite pictures.  Lindsey Lohan's mugshot from 2007.  Damn she looks spacey.

Breakfast Mountain - Just Jamm It

There is a small audio glitch towards the end of this one.  I am still VERY new to this video thing.  It probably gunked up during the compression or something.

Total Heads

Well it is rainy and murky in Eugene.  Finally about time for the rains to come.  This winter has felt very mild without the damp familiars of soggy feet and water armor.  I for one embrace it!  Also it makes working on projects really easy...
Above is a list of participants in a new four label release.  Four musicians releasing together on four seperate labels is gonna be epic.  I have known everyone for some time now and getting to work with them on this is a treat.  Couldn't have asked for a more talented bunch of characters.  Ok so this thing is gonna be called Total Heads.  Shit, I can't wait for this thing to hit the black market.  Check out everyone's respected webzones below and get hyped.

"Oops, I got Art on my Pants"

I am organizing a fun art show and event at the Healthy Times Fun Club in Seattle.  Those sweeties Jake and Rebecca are letting a bunch of Oregonians have a party at their wonderful home.  It is shaping up to be a really good time.
Resident whispy dude and Together Gallery co-owner David Wein is gonna be bringing some of his fresh visuals.  Dave has sure got his toes off the board, he makes hanging 10 a total lifestyle state.  The powerful Boss Level Collective from Seattle are gonna hang large and in charge.  Showing us all how it is done up there.  Shit, I might even try making some 'fine' art.
Breakfast Mountain and the Black Black Black are also making the trip up.  These dudes are practically burning alive in Portland.  Can't wait to see what Seattle thinks of it all...

Show at STONEHENGE

This Saturday night Eugene will host a special music event at the lovely STONEHENGE house.  Ghost to Falco from pdx are on tour and making one of their first stops in our little town.  Some very fine locals will be representing with opening sets of song.
If you make a small 3-5 dollar donation to the bands you will receive the new "Live at Stonehenge" compilation.  16 bands setting a basement vibe over the last 5 years.  It is a pretty good deal for a Saturday night.

BARF 777

Here are some pictures of the newly completed edition of BARF.  A little drawing zine I have been working on.  This one is fully xeroxed with lots of different stocks of paper.  Rabid green covers in an edition of 50.  I am excited to have this complete, the last Barf was an edition of 6 and that was very unfulfilling.  Have you made anything recently and want to do a mail trade??  Getting mail is the best!

Street Prophet

Had a little conversation with a street prophet today.  He had some interesting stuff to say although said it through a heavy lisp of the lord.  I told him I had been writing alot of religious music lately and he said that music was a sin.  I think he would have told me anything was a sin though, kinda just seemed like his mood.  Rain clouds were looming but my mood wasn't affected.

What's up world?  Just a shout-out from my personal web dwelling domain!!

But shit, what's been going on seriously with all of you'll?
Yesterday I finished up Barf 777.  It is a little one this time.  Lotsa neat mixed stock papers with spray painting all over it.  A deffinate creepy vibe taking over all of the drawings.  Maybe the cutsie stuff took off when summer left....making scary faces and nasty hands is pretty fun for now though.
Also working on a Ghost to Falco poster for an upcoming show at Stonehenge.  The show is on the 21st of this month and will be a good one to attend.  Admission to the show is gonna get ya the new Live At Stonehenge cd comp.  Well worth it cause you deffinatly can't buy that shit in stores.  Oh geeeez, don't get me started on stores...

Hope you trollers have a wonderful day.  Come back soon, I'm gonna try and post pictures of the new Barf.
XOXO
